Pool the Shell
The swimming pool is situated on the Binnenschelde, centrally located between the bathing beach on one side and the surfing beach on the other. The Schelp swimming pool was designed with a so-called 4-bath concept. Under the shell-like roof is a competition pool of 25 x 15 meters, equipped with a 1 and a 3 meter shelf, an instruction pool of 10 x 15 meters and a leisure pool with paddling pool totaling 325 m2.
The leisure pool is equipped with various recreational play elements including a super water slide, family slide, rapids, turbo shower, jett streams, whirlpools and steam cabins. From the leisure pool there is a 10 x 20 meter swimming pool, a paddling pool, a sunbathing area with some play equipment.
At the entrance you will find our jungle-style catering facility 'De Piraat'. The coffee is there for you.
Swimming pool de Melanen
The Melans swimming pool is a heated outdoor swimming pool where everyone can enjoy. There are 6 25-meter long tracks where you can swim undisturbed every morning from 10 am to 12 noon. For the high and low diving board we have a separate spring basin of 4 meters deep.
Next to the competition pool we have a large leisure pool. It starts shallow at 40 cm and slowly descends to 140 cm. This bath is ideal for children who are still practicing swimming or for swimmers who prefer to stand with their feet on the bottom. The children have their own island with 2 slides.
For the toddlers and preschoolers we have a separate toddler pool. The location is quiet on a private part of the sunbathing area. Early in the morning you have plenty of sun here. Unique to the Melans swimming pool is the location in the middle of the woods. On the solstice there is plenty of room to sunbathe or to be nice and sporty.
Our changing rooms, lockers, hot showers, toilets, disabled toilets / showers, catering, horeca terrace inside, coffee table, ping pong table and TV corner are located inside our main building. For you and our safety, we have camera surveillance within our main building. For both cyclists and cars there are plenty of parking spaces within 2 minutes walking distance from the pool. Part of the bicycle parking facility is equipped with camera surveillance.
